Overview

Changes have been made to speed up the login connection screen and to be able to check our AWS database for an IP address in the event that a connection could not be established. In order for this to work the following crieteria must have been met

  1. After upgrading to this version the tablet user must log in with a valid conenction to a home with a valid license number. (This will therefore NOT work with the Training database as this does not have a valid license number)
  2. The tablet will store the license number in the local cache for future use.
  3. If the connection fails the tablet will use the cached lciense number to query our customer database. The customer database will return the IP address that we have stored for the customer.
  4. The tablet will try to re-establish a connection. If it succeeds the new IP address will be stored in the tablet's cache. If the connection fails the old IP address will remain in place.
  5. This is not foolproof as our customer database only updates once a day and it only stores the SQL server IP. Therefore if the service is installed on another machine this feature will not work.
